Rest and fluids usually foster recovery, although some cases result in a person’s liver acquiring life-threatening diseases or even failing altogether.
– Listeria: People who have decreased immune system functioning are extremely susceptible to the bacteria known as listeria, such as patients suffering from other conditions, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and young children. The resulting infection is known as listeriosis, and is caused by consumption of listeria-infected raw meats, seafood, dairy, and some vegetables. Meningitis, cervical infections, and septicemia are just a few of the life-threatening conditions that can be brought on by listeriosis.
– Cyclospora: Drinks or food that are infested with the cyclospora parasite are unusual culprits for food-borne illnesses. Vegetables and fruits that host this parasite transfer most infections. Antibiotics are required to treat the condition brought on by this parasitic infection, and untreated cases can be extremely long and painful for the victim.
